Q: What is Piyo?
A: PiYo is a workout program which utilizes a mix of pilates and yoga. Hence the name, PiYo. It isn’t like standard Pilates and yoga classes that make you hold long, intense poses. PiYo is a fast paced workout routine that challenges balance, strength and core.
Q: Why did I decide to do this?
A: I realized that lugging two kiddos to the gym when it was convenient for me (around 2pm) wasn’t so convenient for the kids (during nap time). And I was missing workouts and not loosing the post baby fat as I’d hoped. So I searched for a better compromise and found Piyo. It’s low impact routines mean that I can get a solid workout in without jumping, a.k.a- waking the sleeping children.
Q: How long will you keep this up?
A: Piyo is a 60 day course, sort of speak. Obviously you can do it shorter or longer, as they are just individual workouts, but I aim to do 60 days straight and BLOG about my experience.
